I’ve been training with Bill for over 10 years. It’s one of the best things that I’ve ever done. He has helped me strengthen my body, mind, and spirit. I’m always impressed by his expertise, communication skills and positive energy. He is an inspiring and talented trainer and knows precisely how to keep the sessions effective and relevant. He can skillfully change things up during a session if he senses that something is not quite right, in order to avoid injury. Somehow, at the end, it’s exactly what I needed. He is always attentive and safe during the lifts and knows just how much to push me to get me to get my best results!
Since he is constantly updating his considerable knowledge and trying new ideas on his own, I feel I’m getting authentic, tested, and thoughtful methods for attaining a balanced and healthy life. It’s like he is sharing with me his extremely well considered and battle tested wisdom. I never feel like I’m being sold something that I don’t need or that he is just going through the motions. He makes sure to train the whole person and I feel blessed to have the chance to learn from him.

I have been an athlete for my entire life, and throughout my 20s fitness came easily. But as I aged into my 30s, I noticed that I was spending as much time recovering from injury as I was playing soccer, my sport of choice. I realized that a lifetime of mediocre eating habits, inconsistent exercise, longer work hours, and lounging with the family was catching up with me.
A good friend and co-worker referred me to Bill Maeda at FitPro Hawaii in 2011, and I have been a client ever since. Committing to weekly workouts at FitPro Hawaii was the best investment I could have made in my physical, mental, and emotional health.
From the beginning, it was clear to me that Bill wanted to understand my current level of fitness, what sports I played, and, more importantly, my underlying motivation as an athlete. Over the years I have been working with him, he has continued to learn more about me, and has altered my workouts over time to tailor them to specific sports (soccer, golf), specific events (sprint triathlons, endurance/obstacle races), or specific goals (mental toughness, recovery from injury).
What I value most is that, over the years, Bill has become more than a trainer. He a trusted advisor who keeps me strong, flexible, and healthy. He consistently checks in regarding my nutrition, work habits, stress levels, and he intuitively responds to them within the course of our sessions.
As I continue to age, and my fitness goals change, I know that Bill will help me achieve my ultimate goal - fitness for life.

“I highly recommend him…”
I have been training with FitPro (Bill) for several years now (time flies). I continue to train with him because he is a wonderful trainer who is attentive to my training needs and goals. As a mature, working, professional female (who sits all day and who isn’t highly athletic), I have been most concerned about maintaining strength, flexibility, and proactive health maintenance.
I happened to bump into him years ago training a small group with kettlebells and a girlfriend and I wanted to learn how to use them. Bill was happy to work with us and has taught us how to use kettlebells as well as many other types of equipment and sources of training ( e.g. free weights, body weight, boxing, jump rope, yoga/breathing, etc). He has also provided home routines and short videos. He is a great motivator and a caring trainer who that reminds me to take care of my physical health.
It can be intimidating to see a trainer, but Bill is anything but that. I highly recommend him to my friends who want to get more physically healthy. He makes entering into the world of working out very easy for the average person.

I first met Bill through my friend. Her daughter had teenage confidence issues that were greatly improved after working with Bill. So I had my son, who also had teenage confidence issues, start working with him. My son started looking and feeling better, and continues to work out with weights regularly to date.
When my son went to college, six years ago, I started working out with Bill. I had been doing yoga for 25 years, but because of past injuries, I was not as strong as I wanted to be. Also, I have osteoporosis and read that weight bearing exercise is highly beneficial.
Not only am I a lot stronger now, but I feel more confident. Being stronger is very empowering. Working out with Bill is also really fun because he’s so nice! He is very careful to avoid any injury. We started slow and have built up to more challenging workouts. There is no peer pressure since there is only me and Bill at his gym during my workouts. I highly recommend Bill at FitPro!!!!
